Jono Thompson
| Head of IT; Technical Co-ordinator Jono grew up in York and having become a Christian there, was very involved in the church that he attended. He came to Sheffield in 1996 to study Electrical Engineering but subsequently found he was dyslexic and that formal studying was not going to be for him. In 1997, he decided to settle in Sheffield and St Thomas’. Having done various jobs in the following years mainly working for himself, Jono started taking more and more contract work from church, especially in the Roxy, and became very involved with the technical side of things. In 2001 he started working at St Thomas’ voluntarily for 2 days a week and working self-employed 2 days to support himself. Last September he took over responsibility for church IT and also assisted the Estates team in maintenance and overseeing technical issues at whole church gatherings. He now works at St Thomas’ 4 days a week. Outside of work Jono enjoys good food, fine wines, real ales and Risk. He tries his best to keep well away from computers now that he looks after them all day. He also enjoys the great outdoors even though he doesn’t see as much of it as he would like to.
